Leon A. McNeil, born on May 3, 1969, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, is an accomplished individual with a diverse range of interests and achievements. Currently residing in Devine, Texas, Leon is deeply involved in youth mentoring, education, philanthropy and outdoor pursuits.
Leon’s educational journey began at Abilene Christian University on the football field, where he pursued his passion for learning and obtained his bachelor’s degree. His time at university fostered a strong foundation of knowledge and a lifelong commitment to intellectual growth and the power of relationships. Drawing inspiration from his own rough experiences, Leon recognized the transformative power of education and its potential to shape lives.
Following his graduation, Leon embarked on a career in teaching and coaching, dedicating himself to nurturing young minds and instilling a love for learning in his
students. Over the years, he has honed his skills and earned a reputation as a respected and compassionate mentor/educator. His commitment to his students’ well-being extends beyond the classroom, as he actively seeks opportunities to engage with the community and make a positive impact on their lives.
In addition to his teaching career, Leon is the founder and driving force behind City Kids Adventures, a nonprofit organization that aims to provide underprivileged children with enriching experiences and opportunities. Through this organization, Leon and his family empower young individuals to explore the world beyond their communities, fostering curiosity, resilience, and personal growth. City Kids Adventures offers a wide range of outdoor activities, educational programs, and mentorship opportunities, serving as a beacon of hope and opportunity for countless children in the San Antonio area.
Outside of his professional and philanthropic endeavors, Leon is an avid outdoorsman with a passion for quail hunting. Drawing upon his deep love for nature and the rugged landscapes of South Texas, Leon has become a well respected quail hunting guide in the region. His extensive knowledge of dog training, wildlife, and hunting techniques has made him a sought-after mentor and companion for fellow bird hunting enthusiasts.
Leon’s multifaceted life is a testament to his unwavering dedication to education, philanthropy, and the outdoors. His tireless efforts in teaching, founding City Kids Adventures, and sharing his expertise as a quail hunting guide have touched the lives of countless individuals.
